Compartmentation_View_Icon Compartmentation View

The Compartmentation View allows you to visualize, add, edit, and remove external walls and different compartments in the model.

Different kinds of compartments are displayed in a tree form that can be expanded to get details of different kinds of compartments. Types of compartments displayed in this tree are: External Walls, Gross Area Compartments, Fire Compartments and Secure Compartments.

Compartment types appear in the root of the tree. Each compartment has a list of limiting walls and columns. The floor and the area of compartments are also shown. The areas of Gross Area compartments are measured along the outer side of the limiting components.

Fire and Secure Compartments have editable properties. The property dialog is opened by right-clicking the Fire Compartments root and selecting "Properties..." option. When you press 'OK' after selecting a Fire rating value such as 1, 2,3 then it is applied to the Fire Compartments node of the tree, as shown in the figure below.

Properties dialog for Fire Compartments root gives the possibility to specify the Building Fire Rating.

Its value is shown in Info View's Quantities Panel, when the properties of a Building are shown..

Usage of the fire compartment. Its value is used in rules. Browse button on the right side of the usage field opens a selection list of the typical usage values. You can also create your own usage types by writing them in the text field.
Sprinklered status of the fire compartment. Its value is also used in rules.

When a wall is bounding a Fire Compartment, a new property, Compartmentation, is added to property set Pset_WallCommon, and its value is set true.

Properties dialog for Secure Compartments includes the type of the secure compartment. Predefined values (Secure, Restricted and Public) can be used, or you can add a new value by editing the value in the field.

The Compartmentation View is not open by default. You can add it to any layout you want to. The Compartmentation View has the following functions:

Selection Basket manipulating tools help you to add, remove and set the Compartments to the Selection Basket.

'Add to Selection Basket' button adds all selected compartments, walls, and columns to the Selection Basket.

'Remove from Selection Basket' button removes selected compartments, walls, or columns from the Selection Basket.
